Peter: here you go:
http://www.b-kainka.de/bastel87.htm
that`s prob. based on the old mags I mentioned.
The author recently published a book (Elektor publ.), excerpts of which
were to be found in "Elektor" over the last months,
about tube-circuits from 6 to 60V.
This guy`s whole site is quite interesting
(multi-technically interested guys: s.th. for you)
BUT: it`s all written in German...
...and it`s not 12AX7 per sè.
For those non-German speakers, here's a 'translation'
http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.b-kainka.de%2Fbastel87.htm&langpair=de%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools
Thank you Puretube! 8) (and Gez too :D)

It was an amp that had no resistors, capcitors or diodes. It was all tubes and wires. It had a bunch of speciality tubes in it though so it would not be easily reproducable.

It looks like a really cool design, but beware that the 0A3 and the 0C3 and both radioactive!
You can get the tubes except for the 6N30Pi at http://www.tubesandmore.com but act soon because these tubes won't be around forever. I don't know where to get the 6N30Pi these days. Sovtek used to sell it, but not any more it seems.
take care,
-Peter
Ho ho ho! Brandnew EH Gold 6H30Pi are being manufactured/sold thru new sensor corporation (owner of Electro-Harmonix & Sovtek).
They also still got some of those OAx and OCx tubes.
Tubesandmore can order from there...
the 6N is the latin letter for kyrrillic (russian) 6H...
Thanks Ton. 8)
Are those the same tube with one designation in Cyrillic and one western alphabet?
Take care,
-Peter
"quite" sure.
those 2 letters are often mixed up in "inter-racial" tube-scene schematics and handbooks, and often used alternately.
