Title: Ross/Dynacomp build
Post by: 1wahfreak on March 15, 2004, 02:54:01 PM
I just built both of these this weekend and I was a little suprised at how much the highs have disappeared with both units. I heard the Ross was susceptable to this but that the Dyna wasn't as bad. They work fine and  sound nearly identicle to my ears but both exibite the loss of highs. Is this normal for these pedals? Is there some thing I can look at to fix this?

Change the cap on the input to ground, the first thing your signal hits to 220pF instead of .0022uF. That should help with the Ross at least.

The Ross does filter out a lot of the very high end in order to eliminate the quick transients that can accompany a raw signal.

There should be a substantial difference between the Ross and Dyna.  If not, check your Dyna/Ross switching.  I know that I stuffed it up the first time I wired it.

good luck
