Hey Guys,
Pardon me if this has already been addressed, but I have a situation where I need to rackmount the guts of a wah and just have a controller on the stage.
Is it possible to just remount the guts in a chasis, and extend the wires to the switch and potentiometer in the original housing, or is there something else required.
Thanks in advance.
Scott
There's a better way to do this.
I built one of these for a gigging friend.
You take the circuit of Craig Anderton's "Clean up your Wah Pedal" which uses an LED/LDR like the NSL-32 to run the actual wah circuit. Then the LED is run by the remote wah rocker and pot. The advantage is that the audio never runs out to the rocker pedal, exposing it to hum, noise, treble loss, etc.
It worked GREAT! He's still using it, five years later.
Thanks RG. Can I find the Anderton article anywhere on line? How did you go about switching the wah on and off?
Scott
hmm momentary relay.. normally closed. dpdt and use the signal from the rocker to drive a transitor and hold the relay open..
Just a question, why you want to use a wah in a rack and a wah enclosure in the ground, when you can have the wah circuit inside of the enclosure?
Marcos,
I have about a 30 foot run from my rack to the pedal board. Right now, the only thing that passes audio on the pedal board is the wah, so if I can avoid the cable run it would be best
To suppliment the information already offer you can read the "Rock N' Control" article. You could combine it with the Wicked Switches to do remote switching.

Boy its almost like those are designed for pedal boards. ;)

I think will be best to you to read Andrew's articles, they are great.
