Title: Blue Magic question
Post by: tauscj55 on March 16, 2004, 06:25:07 PM
I have a quick question regarding C7 for the
Blue Magic build from GGG  (http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/v2/index.php?option=displaypage&Itemid=55&op=page&SubMenu=)
I am wondering what this (C7) cap does in the schematic? With that in mind the schematic says C7 should be a 0.022µF, however, I do not have any of these available and was wondering if a 0.027µF cap, which I do have, would make much of a difference?

Thanks

Josh

I don't see it doing too much of a difference... I've gone the other way around (replaced a .027 with an .022). Give it a shot.

The tolerance of theses caps is probably looser than that amount of difference...I doubt you could tell Any difference between the two uf values you typed.

C7 is just a coupling capacitor between stages. Increasing it to .027uF may give you slightly more bass, but I doubt that you could hear a difference between it and a .022uF cap.

thanks for all the responses!
I now have everything soldered... well except for the off board components.  Still waiting to buy an enclosure.
