JimBob,
I bet I've owned anout 20 Tube Drivers before I found the one I liked, what's funny is I've Teched for E.J. and his is a Butler Pedal, The one I chose to keep is a rack mount, But it do got tone to the bone, I Put a Mullard 12au7 in it to kill some of the Fuzziness in it, what's funny is this T.D. was gave to me because it did not work.
Lot's a luck score'in those pedal's Buddy,
I was born and raised in Mo. but moved to Texas in the late 70's, still miss the Osark's though.
JD
Was the volume pedal really made by a company called north Star?
-Colin
am I wrong... North Star Audio distributes Roger Mayer's stuff, no?
Roger
not certain bout the north star audio--i believe so,,there were still a lot of stuff around like that though. the roger mayer stuff--i guess some guy came in and bought like 15 of those spaceship looking effects from the northstar line(roger mayer) for like 50$ each--great deal considering the actuall new price..they were open box but new--o well next time--tomorrow might be a great day though--I have my card, some time, and my sales guy said come back saturday and ill see what i can do..most likely all the good stuff is gone though.--hmmm!! hope not!!
Jd--ozarks rock!! i been there a few time and had a great time..I have had better times in Texas though!
I sure wish I had a music store liek this out this way!! :D
"I sure wish I had a music store like this out this way!!"
Not me, I would be bankrupt!
I opened the Tube Driver--which didnt work--found it had a bad 12ax7a tube--i replaced it and wow!! works great now!! Took a while to take it out as it was silicone / glued down--what a pain!! I was supprised to see how small the board was in relation to the space available..Also i noticed a Tlo72 IC..wondered if other ic's might work better for more gain/ distortion?
