Title: Orange Squeezer Opamp Sub
Post by: bwanasonic on March 19, 2004, 02:27:12 PM
I've seen the opamp in the OS referred to as *non-critical*, but I just got a handful of Burr-Brown OPA2134s, so I figured I try replacing the 4558D in mine. A VERY nice *upgrade* to my ears. Much more "HiFi", with a big improvement in clarity. Not sure how well these chips will do in distortion circuits, but great for this application.

I tried it today with my last BurrBrown. I like it better also, a little more natural I think. Those are nice OAs. I've got one in my SD-1 also which sounds really good also.

The only thing I have a 4558 in right now is my Dr. Quacky, & I'm not sure I shouldn't try something else in there too.
