Title: Where do you get your DPDT/3PDT stomp switches??
Post by: Basonsubatomia on March 21, 2004, 06:24:14 PM
I'm looking to get into pedal building and haven't found a good economical source for the stomp switches... I'm going to be gigging on anything I build, so it's gotta be of decent quality. So where do you get yours, how much, etc.?

I get Alpha DPDT switches from smallbearelec.com

They are really nice LITTLE switches.  Steve's got 3PDT switches as well.  If you look at the top of this forum (i believe it'll be second from the top), you'll notice that Aron also has 3PDT switches for sell.  I just bought two of them from him for something like thirteen dollars and change.  Not bad for two 3PDT switches!  As soon as I get them in, I'll check them out and let you know how good they are, but I expect they'll be damn nice, coming from Aron and all.

Just bought 4 3PDT's from Aron, though I like the X-Wing DPDT's from Steve at smallbearelec. Never had a problem and they allow you to keep the switch deeper in the box.

weber and well i have a friend who buys them in mass quantities so sometimes i get them for 4 bucks each but iusually have to piggy back the order when i do that so he only orders a few times a year.

most of the time i get them from weber, or off ebay..

Lately from Aron, great switches, great price, and he tests each one. You can't go wrong.

Yes, as you can see I make them available. I believe that what I sell them at is a fair price. I could sell them slightly cheaper if I didn't take a hit through Paypal, but paypal makes everything a lot more convenient for mostly everyone.

Jered is right, unlike almost anyone I know, the switches are tested; at least for continuity so at least you do know that when they were shipped, they did work. In addition, they are individually wrapped and sent in a padded envelope.

I also try my best to ship within 1-2 business days of receipt. Sometimes I get an order super late - like at 12 AM or 1AM and it can throw things off a little. But by and large, most orders go out promptly.

I just received my order from aron.  As he said, each switch was individually wrapped in a tissue-like paper and sent in a padded envelope.  Very nice!  And I have no worries about getting a bad switch because of the testing he does beforehand.  Thanks aron, the switches look VERY nice.  My very first 3PDT's!  Now to find a box for them!

I'm glad you got them!  :D

Well, I try to do my best to not ship a bad switch. Again, what this means is that you will not get a DOA switch, but unfortunately that doesn't mean that the switch cannot exhibit problems later or possibly have a flaw or something.

I just thought if I can do this little extra thing beforehand, it will probably help in the future. I sure hope it helps!

Thanks,

Aron
