Title: OT: to spice things up a bit (tattoos).
Post by: cedric on March 22, 2004, 10:49:16 AM
time for a new one, so i'm looking for a tat design.
i'm thinking something along a 50's pinup chick. red dress, long legs, semi-busty chest etc.

any pictures stashed on your computer on on the web by chance?

if anyone here is a tattoo artist i'd love to see their work!

ps. i'll be sure to take a picture of it when it's done and show ya'll.

check out the various t-shirt and sticker designs from
http://www.choppersinc.com/
in the 'apparel' and 'accessories sections..
that should give you some cool ideas.

I've always liked Elvgren's paintings of "pin-ups".

I have one of his on my arm.  They are  paintings so I traced one on a overhead projector and made it more of a drawing, cleaning up the soft lines, etc.

Sorry, wrong one, this one is a lot better.

Have fun, Matt.

Sweet!  Out of curiosity, how many do you have, and where are they, also what are they?  I recently (three weeks ago) got my first.  Its a nod to Stanley Kubric and Arthur C. Clarke, the monolith from the 2001 series with a sunburst coming from behind it.  I got it on my forearm, I'll try to get a picture of it up.  I'm really happy with it!  I'd like to get another soon too, this time of the clockwork orange poster that has Alex's animated face with one eye.  I'm a HUGE kubrick fan!

Mine is this one actually.  Taken out of context, the girl without the setting or background, just her face and body, and outfit in that pose.  I like it.  :D

Matt.

the rest of the stuff i've got on me i've is self-drawn, so i'm prolly gonna do a few things to spice them up.

That's it, Cedric. Mostly seen on oscilloscopes.

Speaks of your love for electronics.

This is not what you want, but a good suggestion for a tatoo is to pick your favorite singer/guitar player/anything and do a toon or draw version of it. I have Jerry Cantrell tatooed in my right leg, and want to do more. I have Satriani, Zakk Wylde and Layne Staley in the list.

I found these awhile ago, I am planning on useing one on the control panel of a Ruby miniamp, built like a small head. The plan was to name it Miss Ruby.

Also ask your frineds who have Tattoo's where they got them done and go and talk to a few of the artists, they may be able to draw something from scrtatch for you.

Ok, here is what I wanted to get on my skin for the rest of my life when I turned 50...

So I did.  8)

I thought it was time to celebrate it.

That's my own design btw. I'm a Taurus (May) and I have a nice red guitar, and I play slide...

My wife said that she didn't care, as long as I didn't have more than one...

Ok, but I never said I would'nt add anything to it...

...And if you ever wonder where it is on my body, here is a pic of me in Cuba in front of my favorite place  :P

My wife was surprised about my decision to have on my chest on the right side, not on the left side, where the heart is. I said it was where I felt it should be.  8)
