Title: 2N1304 Germanium Trans any good?
Post by: SM on March 24, 2004, 08:02:21 AM
I’ve came across 4 (alike) Germanium transistors and would appreciate if you could tell me if they are any good (good for a FF) and if they are PNP or NPN.
They are Texas Instruments:  2N1304 (519A and 626A) and 2N1304 (633 x 2)

:-)

NPN, gain between 40 and 200. Have fun!

Thank you for the info!
I will try theese in a NPN FF project.

Thanks again,

Bjorn, I've used the 2N1304 in just about all my Germanium projects at one time or another...Fuzz Faces, ToneBender MKIIs, and Rangemasters.  It's a great transistor, usually a fairly high gain, and very consistent from piece to piece.

If you can find some 2N388A NPN Ge. transistors, those are great too.
