Jaycar, 326 Newcastle St Northbridge, Perth.  9328 8252.

Plug is here (http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productResults.asp?whichpage=1&pagesize=10&keywords=&CATID=35&SUBCATID=276&form=CAT&ProdCodeOnly=&SPECIAL=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=), sockets on the following pages.

They call them "stereo" plugs and sockets.  Is that what you're after?

I've seen plugs like that, typically a bit smaller diameter than the standard .25 inch. Generally used in Mil-spec gear. I tried looking at the Switchcraft web site, nothing listed other than TRS plugs. Same with Neutrik, don't know where you could find them ...

ah, didn't soak up the extra "ring"... that's one of those optical/mental illusion tricks isn't it!!

Sheesh... talk about rare as tits on a bull...

I wouldn't have the foggiest idea.  You could try ringing Amber Technology (http://www.ambertech.com.au/index_fl.html) on 1800 251 367.  They are agents for Neutrick, Canare and NTI.
