Title: Not getting enough FUZZ ?
Post by: crawler486 on March 29, 2004, 03:33:16 AM
I bought a "Fuzz Tone" kit and assembled the parts according
to instructions. It seems to work BUT I aint getting enough Fuzz
out of it.   How can I modify the circuit so it it gains more fuzz.

 Thanks!

Hi.  If it's one of those "pair of diodes" kits, then you'll get better results with humbucking pickups than single coil.  If you're stuck with single coil, you could use a booster than the fuzz unit.

But really, it's hard to get the quality of something like a fuzzface or RM axis fuzz from those kits.

good luck

Add a Mosfet Booster before it, then drive it harder.

You'll be able to keep the original smoother sound...

And it can be used as a very clean booster anytime...
