Title: Unusual Request
Post by: sirkut on March 29, 2004, 10:08:53 AM
Does anyone know of a lfo circuit that would be able to change from square(pulse) to triangle(or losely a sine) that could light up an LED to illuminate a photocell.  I am away of a few ICs already but the one thing I was thinking about was if there was a way to change the spacing at the peak or pit. for example:

--_--_--_--_--_--_  or triangle _/\_/\_/\_/\_

with the spacing turned "up" it would be:

----_-----_-----_----- or triangle _/--\_/--\_/--\_

I notice that the commonsound stereo tremlunus panneur has that feature but I can't figure out what exactly is doing what. Any help?

on the commonsound stuff, the 4558 and all the parts connected to it make up the lfo. just use everything from the 4558 up to the LED/LDR combo, and there's your lfo.

the lfo on the tremulus lune lets you control the spacing, does triangle/square/ramp and is pretty easy to throw together. there's a waveshaper mod on the triwave page that will let you control rise and fall times seperately. you should be able to tag this onto the tremulus lfo pretty easily, and you'd have a neat lfo with lots of knobs.

OK, then my assumption was correct. I already built one stereo trem panneur and was definately pleased with the rampup/down mod. Guess i'll work on that! Thanks!
