Title: Simplest Wildest Effect Pedals?
Post by: MattAnonymous on March 30, 2004, 07:08:10 PM
What are some of the simplest most exotic effects.  Distortion gets boring after a while.  I'm looking for an easy flanger, delay, vibrato, trem, auto wah, etc. that can be made from readily available parts.

Tim Escebedo's got a bunch of cool stuff...check out the Uglyface...fits the above criterion perfectly...definitely wild and crazy.

build a feed-back looper thingy, then run all your other pedals through it, very interesting results

I've been playing guitar synth for a long time and I've gotta say that the Uglyface is seriously cool IMHO.  In your face tone and especially cool when in oscillator mode... yeah!  Thanx for mentioning it here...

Also, the Ampeg Scrambler and the tyco Brahe Octavia are not too complex but out there distortion boxes.

For Tim's ugly face, also check out Runoffgroove. There is a build report and perf layout ( and soundclips!) .

Maybe we should refer to it as "Tim's Uglyface pedal."  :)

I'm not a animal! I am a human being!

There are no photos of me without the bag over my head.

AFAIK, no. However, runoffgroove.com does have a nice perfboard layout that's nearly identical to how I've wired mine.
