Title: Thinkin out loud, Univibe LFO substitute
Post by: jrc4558 on April 02, 2004, 12:07:21 AM
How about    extracting the LFO cirquit from EA tremolo, then doing the blinkin LED trick, as guys at RunOffGroove did, and then using it to feed four optocouplers?
Like in EZVibe?

Is it the same wave-shape LFO?

Does it sound like a sane idea?

it appears that modulation madness has set in. this idea would work in many different instances.

i have no idea about the similarities between these particular LFO wave-shapes.

If all that you are interested in is the blinking LED to follow the modulation rate, do a search here for previous threads on this subject, and also check out JC's excellent web site. http://www.lynx.bc.ca/~jc/    JC provides several options for pulling off the blinking LED based upon the stock Univibe LFO.

Hope this helps,

could do.

BUT...

the LFO in the univibe is one the things most vital to is signature sound, feel and vibe

the lamp in the LFO is slow to turn off, so you get that uneven sweep that the 'vibe is known for, where as using a LED will have a nice even sweep.

your choice.

cheers
