Title: highway 89 build question/problem-help?
Post by: jimbob on April 02, 2004, 02:21:06 AM
Well it works sorta..really faintly u can hear it..sounds great from what little i do hear..So there is some type of volume error. I can turn it ip and down to where u cant hear it at all..  I used a 500kb pot instead of a 500ka pot--can that be the problm..i dont think so but im also not sure.. Any ideas?

K- i managed to find a 500ka and still no difference--major volume drop--odd to me considering all the threads about too much volume/distortion..Any Ideas?

hmm go stage by stage and try it with an audio probe to find out where you are losing yoru signal at??? is my best solution off top of my head

Yes, you need to step through the circuit stage by stage and see where the loss is occuring. It's probably either a cold solder joint, miswire, or wrong value component.
