Title: G. Ringer...level ?
Post by: petemoore on April 19, 2004, 09:34:09 PM
Does your Green Ringer do unity?
Mine don't seem to get that near it, soemwhere about 1/2 to 2/3rds bypass level.
The first one Was a long time ago, it was exhibiting the same low output amount like this one.
The Diodes measured 1.94 and 1.99 respectively, I suppose trying soem closer matched ones would help get more octave effect?

The gain will depend on the type of diodes you use. Are you using germanium, silicon or Schottky?

My (silicon) GR gives near-unity gain.

Still works in the box, but it seems like a bit of the octave got lost soemwhere in the transistion.  Seemed louder, too but now with the switch for bypass it doesn't seem so loud being well under unity.
Si's that I had in there made for a very Fuzzy Fuzz. cool but not much octave to speak of...
