Hi,

little OT, but i use an Amp build in an 1982 FenderShowman (DualReverb) Top.
It has a ClassA 60Watt PowerAmp and the PreAmp is modified from two Channels with Vibrato and Reverb to a one Channel Amp with Reverb only.
Sounds like a Mix from Californian Amp and British style.
At lower Gain its Fenderish and at higher Gainsettings its slightly like
a Marshall.
I dont know whats and how its modified, but its completely handwired
and sounds good for my ears.

I use it together with an 2x12 custom made cabinet from "AagaardNielsen"
A small Custom Cabinet Builder from Germany...
www.aagaardnielsen.de (but the Side is unfortunately closed at the moment - only a startimage)

Not sure what you have against assembly lines, but...

If you are looking for some "money is no object" *trophy* combo, I can't help you. But if you are looking for a good sounding *grab-it-and-go* amp, look into the Traynor YCV20WR. For $500 or less you get a nice little 1X12 15 watt  Class A  EL84 powered amp (with a useable reverb even!). The *WR* model features a Celestion Greenback for the speaker. It only weighs about 32 lbs. Don't let the 15 watts fool you either - 15 watts Class A is LOUD! Comes with a 2 year transferable "even if you break it" warranty. At this price get two and run stereo! Haven't gigged mine yet, but I'm sure it will beat lugging my 80+ lb Rivera for smaller gigs. The *distortion* channel sounds sweet when goosed by a Rangemaster too.
