Title: Fuzz Face + Clipping Diodes
Post by: aaronkessman on April 20, 2004, 02:48:40 PM
has anyone here tried putting some clipping diodes in before the volume pot on a fuzz face clone? anything good come out of that? if the volume is too low after the diodes you could add an active boost, couldnt you?

just conjecture.

Two ccts come to mind...
 The 70's pedal.
...And Lava Rim [which is in schematics under "Aron Nelson'].

don't forget joe gagan. he's the master of fuzzes imho. I've never built something form him sounding bad. And theys sound better than the originals. Also he's got a couple of diode based designs like the tarpit meltdown. Check them out!
