Post by: Mirlyn0 on April 28, 2004, 02:49:25 PM
ok, i got it all wired up and i used a socket for the transistor, everything is perfect but when i put in the transistor i get no sound unless i turn the amp up to 10, i tried reversing the transistor and trying other kinds (2n5088, 2n3904) what could be wrong?

also when i unplug the transistor i get normal volume sound

Black mark to the base (middle leg).

That's ok.  I *think* the diode will conduct when the tranny is removed.  The signal is just modulating that conduction.

good luck
