I learnt the hard way that they were not compatible.
Mixed up the screws and I was wondering why the screws won't go into the eddystone small box. Turned abit tighter and it the screw broke !
Spent another about 2/3 hours trying to remove the remains. From then I realised that the Hammond 1590BB screws are abit longer than that from eddystone.
Painful lesson !

Ouch! That's good to know... 8)
which leads me to ask...
Can you purchase replacement screws for these boxes?
I tried to find a standard size that I could stock up on to fit Hammond boxes, but I couldn't find any at a local hardware store. I heard somewhere that you could get JUST the screws from Mouser. can anyone confirm this.

Different threads too.

The Hammond screws are 6-32 x 1/2" thread. Same as the MXR reissues. You can get these easily at a hardware store. Wouldn't hurt to get a tap too, as sometimes you can run into a box that has short-threaded holes.
Mouser sells bags of 100 replacement screws for Hammond cast aluminum boxes (1590B, BB, DD, etc.):
-6-32-1/2" thread, Mouser part 546-1590MS100, $3.89 for 100
The first time I ordered some Hammond boxes from Mouser, one of the boxes was unusually noisy inside. When I took the back plate off I discovered that they had sent me a free bag of 100 replacement screws!
