Title: ToneBender q
Post by: jimmy on May 05, 2004, 08:54:06 AM
hi everyone.

i built a tonebender and fell in love. now i have a few questions:
1) in the first gain stage, why isnt there a resistor from v+ to the base of the transistor? this had me tearing my hair out, and in the end i stuck one in there to calm my nerves.
2) with the gain/attack pot, mine seems to act more like a bias knob. why is it so?

thanks
Jim

Which ToneBender did you build?  The Vox 2-transistor, the Colorsound MKII, the Colorsound 3-Knob?

oh sorry!

it was the mkII professional i believe. the fuzz face with the gain stage and attack and volume knobs.

although i cant for the life of me remember what schematic i built it off. i THINK i built a fuzzface and then tacked a tonebender first stage in front of it.

thanks again
Jim
