Title: quick polarity protection question.
Post by: crawler486 on May 12, 2004, 01:40:06 AM
I got 1n4001 diode. Where do I put it in series? The positive or the ground of the Power Supply?

The traditional place is in the +9 volt wire. It doesn't matter if things are just being powered from a battery, but in case you ever use a single supply to power multiple pedals, placing the diode in the +9 volt leg is a better way to go for consistancy.

take care,

Yes I'm planning to use a single power supply for 5 effects. Thanks!
