Title: OT: Octal Fatness amp in flux
Post by: Doug H on May 13, 2004, 09:21:16 AM
I'm making some changes. Found I could get a pretty smooth sound with no conjunctive filter/bright cap by running it at a lower voltage. I have B+ of 310 (293 plate to ground) and it sounds pretty good with the 6ar6. It sounds more lively and punchy, esp on neck pup and with semi-clean settings. Low voltage/high current is the way I'm going right now. Gets along better with pedals now too (no bright cap).

I'll post a schem update and voltage levels when it all settles down.
