Title: Vox 847 mods for bass?
Post by: BassWombat on May 14, 2004, 12:26:41 AM
I've read up about all the 847 mods, in particular the change of the 470 resitor on the emitter of Q1 for a 330 to improve bass response. My question is whether this mod will make the wah an effective bass guitar wah (which is what I want)? Or are there some other mods I need to make?

I'm still pretty new to this whole caper - although having successfully just replaced the pots on a Big Muff and made a true bypass box I'm keen to try lots more!!!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Change the 0.01uF "sweep" capacitor that connects to the emitter of Q2 with a 0.068uF.  That'll change it to a bass wah pedal.

That's the only difference between the GCB-95 standard wah and the GCB-100 bass wah.
