I am ,how you say computer blond at best and making cyberspace work to my advantage is really a stretch. I have looked at some schematic drawing plans. For what I want to do they are a little to much . All I want to do is to be able to draw up some ideas and transfer them to a web site I am working on. I tried ms paint and used smallbears idea on creating the parts was fairly simple and actually that does what I want but had a difficut time saving them to a page. I want to be able to have a page of symbols ,copy and paste and connect them. Does anyone have any suggestions on freesoftware. I personally like the looks of those schematics that have the real life ics [in color] similiar to what edn acces uses.Any thoughts on something simple[using windows 98 se]
for the actual schematic i liked eagle. when i had accesss to it..
but for layotus i like express pcb
ASCII circuit (http://www.tech-chat.de/AAcircuit.html) is good for quick and greaseys.
I've found expresspcb to be good for just schematics.
Micro-cap have a "student" or evaluation version. Is a complex program, but you don't have to dig far if you're just doing schematics.
I've used Word drawings in the past. You can save the symbols in a sort of library, and when the "snap to grid" feature is working, it's ok to use!
I had the idea of using a vector graphics program (like flash or freehand etc.) but I haven't tried it. Vector graphics would allow for scaling without distorting the image. Flash has librarys and you can treat each instance of a symbol as a separate object on the stage.... ok, sorry, no more flash lingo. :?
