Title: Hot Silicon Bender ?
Post by: Lonestarjohnny on May 18, 2004, 11:24:36 PM
I'm waiting on some 2n5089's to come in and was digging in my junk and found some 5088's, checking the datasheet's they look to be a lil stronger than the 89's, could I sub the 88's without a lot of changes ?
Thank's,
JD

The noise/gain of the effect may be different though.
5088's are lower gain the 5089.
I put a Jfet in mine, but I used trimpots for the bias resistors.

Cool Pete, Thanks for the Info, I think I'll just wait for my order to come in, I like the soundclips over at Doug's site, When I get this one done I'm gonna ask Doug if I could build the H.W. 89, it's got some really good vibe going also,
