Title: Boss Chorus -- whistling
Post by: PeterJ on May 26, 2004, 10:06:57 AM
I have a not-so-old CE-5. It's a pretty good sounding box with a lot of control, but recently it's started making a high-priched whistle/whine. I'm using this for an acoustic instrument that goes to the soundboard.

I've tried in different places in the effects chain (currently TU-2 tuner, CE-5, mxr micro-amp, DI box to the PA), and no change. I usually power it with a One Spot, but it does the same thing on battery power. Any ideas on what could cause this?

Thanks,
Peter

sounds like a bad ground, or maybe a bad cable. if you haven't swapped your cables around yet, try that. if that doesn't work, reflow the solder joints on the input and output jacks. hopefully that'll cure it.

Thanks!  I figured it was something simple. Much appreciated, Clay
