Question for anyone who has built the Great Cheddar or owns the Big Cheese. What did you set the internal 1k trimpot to? My pedal works properly and sounds fine, except that in position 4 of the 4 position tone control, notes sputter and die out of the Fuzz control is turned up all the way (the three other positions are fine.) Is this normal?
I think that trim pot is basically a "gate" control, of sorts. If that's true, what you describe would be normal behaviour. So, just set it where you like how it sounds. If it seems to depend on where the 4-pos switch is set, maby consider bringing it out as an external control. 8)

Yes, the 4th position works like that. You have to turn the fuzz knob backwards.
I had the trimmer all the way clockwise and the 4th setting was perfect with a battery. When I plugged in a hot 9 volt wallwart, I lost the crackle. The trim pot allowed me to dial it in again.
I am curious about what sounds other builders are getting from theirs. As a single note fades do you get that one octave drop?
