I have 3 pots from a ds-2 that is no longer alive. I dont understand what this letter is after the value--havnt seen it before..
100kg? 100ka would be a 100 k log aud pot..what is this g?
m250kd?
m50ka-im sure this is a log/aud pot-not sho what the m means though.
thanks
anyone?
Most pots in audio applications are Log , Linear, or Reverse log. Boss buys in large enough quantity that they could have custom tapers made but it would be unlikely they went to that expense for a pedal. Why not get out your meter and a knob with a pointer and plot the curve? That way you'll know for sure
well you can usually figure out the taper of an unmarked pot by measuring its resistance at 25% 50% and 75% of it's rotation
for a 100k pot (shaft facing you, lugs facing down, resistance between left and middle lug)
_25% _50% _75%
~25k ~50k ~75k = linear
~5k ~15k ~40k = log
~60k ~85k ~95k = anti log
~10k ~50k ~90k = "graphic"
I have no idea about the "d" suffix, but "g" is probably "graphic" which is like log taper until the middle where it switches to anti log. I'm guessing the "g" pot came from the tone control section?

m might mean mini here? I dunno just a guess. You don't have much room in those little BOSS cases.
