Title: boss bypass whoes...
Post by: tjburton on May 30, 2004, 05:53:02 PM
Have any of you experienced a boss pedal "bleeding" its effect into the the bypassed signal? I have a Boss SD1 that I can hear a faint distortion when the effect is bypassed. Any ideas for where to look first.

Do a search - I think this has been mentioned in a previous post.

Your pedal is not turning the distortion path JFET switch device fully off. It may be
a) wrong bias voltage on the JFET source
b) weak turnoff signal on the JFET gate
c) JFET with not enough turnoff at the voltage that's available.
d) solder or contamination thread on the board.
