Title: A LED indicator for a Ruby (on/off indicator)?
Post by: Mann on June 01, 2004, 06:44:28 AM
Just finished a Ruby and it worked right away and now I'm about to build a wooden speaker box and put the whole thing in - a mini amp. I'm going to put a simple on/off switch to the 9 volt + lead but if I wanted a LED indicator where and how should put it?

Mann-

I basically added the LED to the switch ( I have a switch attached to the end of the volume pot)  Using the proper resistor - hook up the LED so that when the switch is on the LED is on.

Hope it helps

Dude, buy a low voltage illuminated switch and save yourself a bit of work!

Go  Here  (http://www.metku.net/index.html?sect=view&n=1&path=mods/ledcalc/index_eng) for an led calculator (tells resistance needed). Just put a DPST switch ( DPST = on and off for two poles). Just connect +V from supply and the circuit voltage input to one pole, and on the other pole have +V on one side and the LED with correct resistor on the other (going to ground).

Hope that helps
