Title: Tubescreamer issue :(
Post by: Jaqen on June 02, 2004, 09:34:23 AM
Hi guys, I'm new here  :D
Sorry in advance for my poor english :?

I've just completed  my first stompbox, a TS Clone ( (//www.masterslaves.it/ts_clone.jpg) ) and the tone is real good ( very similar to my original TS-10 )... but there's a problem :(
Even with the level set full, the output volume is quite lower than the volume when the effect is bypassed.

I have this strange values on transistors' pin:
C=8.7 B=2.8 E=3.5  ---> E>B, that's not good!

And also on IC I measured:
pin1=4.3
pin2=4.53
pin3=4.2

pin4=0
pin5=4.3
pin6=4.3
pin7=4.3
pin8=8.7

I tried to change the transistors but nothing...

Any idea?

Thanks!

Daniele

IIRC the audio probel once again came to the rescue.
 The OA pin  thevoltages look acceptable to my eye,
but the transistor voltages don't look right, in a TS, that's an NPN buffer...
 I' d check out the wiring around that  transistor.

Yeah! I fixed it using audio probe! It was a bad pot!

Thanks a lot!
