Post by: John Egerton on June 06, 2004, 11:18:16 AM
Hey guys..

I built the ring frobnicator exactly as stated on the geofex site however i'm having a problem...

The 2 led's are lit dimly all the time and all i get from the pedal is a clean sound at a lower volume that a bypassed sound...

its a little weird...

any help would be great...

Thanks

John

Hi.
1. Try using a partly flat battery, or
2. Use two resistors to form a voltage divider (e.g. 10k+1k) across a 9V battery, then tap the centre for a lower voltage power supply (a bit over 8V)

I suspect that the above are due to Hohn Hollis' neat idea of using 2 LEDs for the bias in the LFO.  Maybe some LEDS don't have enough voltage drop?  But I'm only guessing.

cheers

Make shure you use EXACTLY same LEDs for all three of them! Otherwise the bias is upset. This is exactly what I can into with anither John's cirquit - EZVibe...
