Title: Comfortably Numb Sound?
Post by: Alpha579 on June 07, 2004, 03:46:37 AM
Hi all,
How does Dave Gilmour get that sound? I heard somewere hes a client of Pete Cornish. And are there any pedals that would get me that sound of the outro solo?
Thanx,
Alex

Hi

Take a look on the site bellow, maybe you can find what you're looking for.
Besdides, check your mail box, I have sent you a copy of a D. Gilmour's interview ( it's too long to put it here )

I used to get a reasonably close approximation using a BMP, a Flanger, & a lot of delay & reverb, and a deeply furrowed brow.

Sorry I havn't been around for a while but being unemployed hit me pretty hard for a while.

Anyway,

For further DG guitar info I found this site a couple of weeks ago
http://richardmahon.8m.com/sbarchive.htm

There is also some interesting Barrett information there as well, including his amps (at last) though the Selmer Treble 'n Bass 50w (don't know what revision) is also mentioned on some other sites.

Selmer schems are here
http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/selmer/schematic/wire.html

for those who are interested.

Regards,

Rob...
