Title: bass distortion pondering...
Post by: Samuel on June 10, 2004, 01:54:21 PM
so I'm trying to put together a bass distortion pedal for the bassist in my band. I built the Brassmaster, and it's just not what we're looking for. Too "fuzzy" too "buzzy".

Thinking I might just mod a big muff pi. Any suggestions for changes to make it retain a huge low end? Will changing out the input/output caps make a substantial difference, or are there more cap changes that need to happen?

Mine was muddy for guitar anyway.
My bass player at the time tried it, and kept it on the whole time we jammed together.
He ws using a GK, Hartke 4x10'' and also a couple 15'' speakers.
The amp rig was the drummers, he developed 'hand disease' that debilitated Bass Playing [I suggested cleaning the: "looks like years of decroded garbage on the neck"].
He expressed interest to buy that box, it did a great job fattening the Bass Sound for the Hard Rock we were doing.
