Title: Tunibg/tweeking Garbage
Post by: petemoore on June 12, 2004, 07:49:32 PM
Ive got some trash vs treasure transistor stuff, I found on the curb or was donated.
1 stereo reciever that 'works' if a little scritchy in the knob dept.
It would seem everything you need to amplify is there, [power supply output transistors etc.] but they generally sound well crappy.
Is there a way to mod these units to be more usable for guitar amplification applications?
The availability of these units is so good, I thought why not ask and see if there's anything can be done for them to make them more suitable.

If youy just want to know where to put the guitar signal in, just take a line out of a CD player or something at a 'guitar' level & then try poking in the signal (via a 0.1 mfd cap) until you hit the 'right' point. (you need the ground connected as well of course).
Then you can cut the radio part out.
