Title: How to increase output from FET? Help needed quick!
Post by: smoguzbenjamin on June 28, 2004, 02:08:24 PM
hey guys

Take a look at the Little Gem Mk II schemmo at www.runoffgroove.com for me. It uses a little FET buffer in front of it. To increase the output from that, what do I do? Should I change the 27k resistor from Source to ground or something else?

Cheers
Ben

As shown, it's a source follower - that means gain can't be more than one. The schem shows a 10K resistor to ground from the source when I looked.

What you could do is to make the source-ground resistor 4.7 to 6.8K, use a 22K to 47K resistor from drain to +9, and reconnect the 386 input cap to the drain, not the source. That would at least get you some gain.
