Title: MP40a Ge Transistors?
Post by: Alpha579 on July 28, 2004, 02:30:50 AM
Hey all,
Ive bought 40 MP40a's off ebay cheap, and i was wondering if anyone has any experience using them in FF/Range Master circuits. From what i understand they are lower gain than most, so would they be good for a smooth Fuzz Face?
Even if they sound bad in those circuits, ill see if i can build something that suites them...
Thanx for all input,
Alex

Read: Technology of the Fuzz Face at GEO..put your head in a FF, and a FF in your head :D
Become 1 with the Feedback loop amp.
 [and?]or...Use of trimpot
 Socket of transistor
 hours of testing fun
 EZ Face
All of these should help find where your transistors may work well.
Since you said 40ct. the transistor hfe/leakage tester is recommended.

Have you tested them yet? If you did, how did they fare?
