The TP schem has a 4k7 resistor in series with a .047uf cap from pin 2 to ground. Most other schems have this connected to the bias voltage. What basic electronic principle am I missing here? I really like FP's compact layout style, so I'd like to base my layout on his.
BTW- I was planning on using the the clipping section part values from the Landgraff: 1k / .22uf / 10k with a 1M drive pot. I have a vintage TS9, so I'm looking for something a little different.
thanks

<EDIT>
just realized I was using an old PDF!
