I have a 64 Gibson Skylark, how do I know if its cathode biased?

Here's the schem (straight from Gibson, nice buncha guys workin for them):

if the grid is tied to ground instead of a negative voltage and the cathode is raised from the ground either by a cathoderesistor or is tied to a positive voltage ( rare but look at musicman for example ) then it is cathode biased.
your amp is a good example of a cathodebiased amp. the grids are tied to ground with the two 220k resistors and the cathode is raised from ground with the 270ohm resistor

Thanks for the help Johan!

What makes a resistor tied to ground as opposed to raised from ground?
