Title: Variable Caps
Post by: jmusser on August 13, 2004, 08:30:55 PM
I was wanting to know whether anyone had ever used variable caps on the inputs and outputs of fuzz circuits to tune the different bass and treble tones with it? I honestly don't know if there are caps to use for this purpose, besides the ones out of the tuner sections of radios. The only ones I know about are air dielectric. I was just curious, because I've never seen them in a circuit. It may not even be possible to use them. I was just sort of throwing the idea out there to see if it's been done.

I believe the only variable caps that would fit in a stompbox are in the low pF range.

u can always use a rotary switch to get different caps or a pot to blend the signal betwee caps like a tube screamer

How about using mini dip switches and few different caps, used on some projects and commercial pedals
