My emphasis this time was on tools, but there are other goodies as well. I will be shopping again in mid- to late-fall, and I expect then to add more op-amps and other chips.

Very nice additions to the crib. I am unsure of the overall interest, but I will throw this out. I have just begun adding microcontrollers to my DIY effects. Mostly Atmel AVR stuff.
The short of it all, is that I had to rethink my tool setup to accomodate the needs of digital. I now use several interconnected boards, instead of a single pcb for most projects. I quickly came to the realization that off board wiring was killing me time wise.
So, I began using custom built interconnects. Several tools that I find extrordinarily useful are a (pin) crimping tool and an IDC cable tool.
With my IDC crimper and a spool of flat wire, I can quickly make 10 conductor wiring harnesses for interconnecting signals etc. I also began using those 2 and 3 conductor headers. Basically, you solder pins to the pcb at 0.1 inch centers. You crimp corresponding pins to your wires, and insert the pins into a plastic hood. The hood then slips over the header pins which are soldered to the pcb.
I began using this interconnection strategy not only for digital, but for jacks, potentiometers and everything else I could. It makes assembly/disassembly a breeze. It also allows me to avoid soldering bare wire directly to the pcb. I never had a problem doing so, but it was a royal pain to have wires soldered to my boards permanently.
Any thoughts of stocking headers, pins and corresponding tools? Anyone else out there do this?

I do that as well, though I haven't incorporated it into any stompboxes, just some other projects/lab assignments.
I already carry the Mill-Max Single-In-Line sockets, and one can easily snap off arrays. I can easily offer two- and three-pin headers to connect pots, LEDs, etc. Possibly a tool also. Suggested part numbers?

I thought I saw the only differences were in the shaft type they were designed to accept - non-knurled (setscrew), knurled (push-on), and D shaped shaft (also push-on)
Wasn't knurled the thing where the outside of the knob has bites chomped out of it?
the knurled i mean is the type where there are long grooves in the pot's shaft so that some similar grooves on the inside of the knob can grip the shaft, eliminatin the need for a set screw.
