Title: Does this Buy look good for me?
Post by: bazzwazzle on September 01, 2004, 01:32:06 AM
I am starting out and since I could use alot of various different valued parts, I found this little thing on ebay. It's looks like a nice deal. I was just asking if it doesn't look like a jip or anything.

bid ends in 13 hours so please be hasty. thank you.
I didn't want to post at first thinking people would bid, but I trust you guys  :)

Hi bazzwazzle,

I think most folks use the 1/4 watt resistors for effects use. I would lean more towards something like the 1/4 watt assortment on this page:

http://www.futurlec.com/ValuePacks.shtml

They've got some other good deals there, as well. They only charge $3 shipping for orders under $30. Shipping is fairly slow, but the price is right.

If you're in the States, you can also visit your local Rat Shack. I bought one of their 1/4 watt assortments years ago and it's lasted quite a while. I just fill in the sizes as I run out of them.

thanks I'll take a look into that. Ebay has 1/4 deals too but your recommendation has more for about the same price. Thanks! I think I'll grab some caps too :)

QuoteThey are not sorted

AAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Run screaming and crying with your face buried in your hands. Lest you go insane sorting through a humungous pile of tangled resistors to find the value you want.

Hey Bazz:

There are lots of good deals on eBay. That's NOT one of them.
I've been using this seller for resistors. They're usually $.99 + $1.25 shipping per 100 lot, with 25 or 50 cents shipping tacked on for each individual lot. It works out well for me as I only want 100 @ a time.

Seriously, my parts bin spilled when I moved on July 1st and I've just last week had the fortitude to finish sorting them all. Might be a bigger job then you realize :)
