Title: Midi switched Loop box?
Post by: crywolf on September 08, 2004, 01:12:57 PM
Please your help on the following.
I own a Exef midi switcher (for channel swithing). I would like to use it for switching my pedals on and of. I guess i need a loopbox (3 loops) but can't figure how to wire it.

I guess that would depend on your MIDI switcher. If you can show how that works, I'm sure at least someone can help you out ;)

It is a midi to jack box. I can program it to change 8 switch-outputs at a time. I guess it uses relais. I have to use a jack-jack connection from swither to the loopbox.
Exef used to have an combi swither with had 8 switch-outputs and 4 loops.

Hi!
You can do it that way:

As U can see it must be an active loop box. You need one DPDT relay for one loop. Notice the ground lines in every loop. They're separated from each other. I also included slow switching for relays, it reduces pops during the switching moment. Since current is very tasty for relays I strongly recommend 9VDC adapter for powering this toy.
And today I finished my new baby:  little quadruple midi controlled switch, can simulate normal footswtich, momentary, also has toggle mode, control via ProgramChange and ControlChange.
