Cool!!!
I appreciate you guys posting stuff for me, I guess I need to stop messing with distortions and figure out all this computer stuff, but then I wouldn't get to play my guitar as much and I can't do that...
OK, Joe Davidson suggested this in reference to the Jfet emulations stuff and it uses his diode compression circuit with J201/202's instead of 2N5089's. I biased the J202's (from the source rather than the drain) with the 47k resistors and an 8.5v battery. The J201's I had seemed to bias at higher voltage, so you might need to sub 33k resistors or 100k trim pots. The first by-pass cap is .1uf sort of works as a treble boost and the second and third are 1uf, smaller would probably work. This keeps the bass from getting too flabby and I think I heard some Brown in there. Also when subing J201's some sounded more flabby than others, not that there is anything wrong with a Loose bass sound.
Most of the ROG M's have large by-pass cap's in the first stage, so you might reverse the order I have and put the 1fu in the first stage or try totally different values. If you leave a by-pass out of a stage, it reduces the gain which makes for more of a mellow overdrive.
I hope Joe and ROG approve and thanks to all for making this an enlightening virtuality 8)
I went back and was reading Joe's comments about the Cold Cathode and decided to try the standard 2N5089 BJT for the second stage Q2. I'll let you know how it works. Hope Joe's doing OK, since his site is down. :)
I was trying this too, but I had a difficult time biasing the JFETs. Maybe I didn't go high enough. I will try it again.
Thanks!

Sound samples! Sound samples!
I tried part of the cold cathode, but I like the Vulcan "grind" a little more. I need to get the J201's going.
Joe suggested 33k resistors, but with a 8.5v battery the 47k's put the J202's between 4 & 4.5v. The J201's seemed to be a little higher. With a 10v battery, things jump up around 5v. The weaker battery sounds better. I need to try the CC to compare. I have the plain and Jfet versions breadboarded I need to AB. 8)
