Title: Treblebooster mod problem.........
Post by: littlestevie on September 21, 2004, 03:29:00 PM
Last night have moded my treblebooster by addind a switch for selecting input capacitor ( it switch between a 10nf and a 100nf). But when  I use the switch there is a big sound like a "BANG" (the same thing that you've got when you unplugged a jack when the amp is turned on). Is there something to fix this   .
Is the tips with the 1mg resistor between input and ground will do the job ????

help

That might do the job (resistor), but maybe your switch is not make before break so it could be adding noise too.

Thank you Aron !! and first thanks for your great forum!!
I will try the resistor stuff but maybe my wiring is not good :

Is it the correct way to wire the swith for this kind of stuff?

Yup that wiring looks fine...you can also use a simpler SPST switch and do an 'adda cap' mod, which adds parallel capacitor [or not depending on switch position]

A 1M resistor beteween the output and the ground had fixed the problem !!!!
No Bang anymore.

Thank you, and good night because in france it's almost 11h30 PM 8)
