Title: Supa Sustain works...
Post by: Thomas P. on September 01, 2003, 09:41:37 AM
at least I think so since I've never played or heared an original :?
I'm useing 2N3904's with a gain between 40-50. I guess I'll have to try other LED/LDR combinations to see what kind of difference there is.

For the first test I played through a SS-amp and I can't say if it sustains a single note or if it just gives a clean boost. Anyway the solo from 'Shine on you crazy diamond' sounds good, though

As I read in an old Colorsound cataloge it is supposed to give a sustain without distorting the signal - this makes me think that I'm near to what it's supposed to do

Thanks,

I've had original ones and they do distort the clean signal...they're really more of an overdrive boost than a compressor...
