Does anyone know of a cheap IC that is still in circulation to use for a very simple digital delay circuit that will be good for up to 250ms?
There's a couple of analog delays that could fit the bill...
Wow, awesome website. This info should keep me busy for hours. However it still does not answer my question. Im building something for my senior project and it requires digital delay.
I am not aware of any simple DIY digital delays, but there might be some out there. Anyone else?
You could try this one: http://www.muzique.com/schem/dod908.zip
It's not exactly simple in my book, but...
EDIT -
Here'e another one: http://www.web-ee.com/Electronic-Projects/projects/digital_echo/index.shtml
You may be able to adapt the delay section from this page: http://sound.westhost.com/project26.htm
If I understand you correctly, the Robote2 delay should fit the bill.

The rebote II is almost certainly your best bet for a small, simple delay. It's a very nice little circuit.
Ah, I didn't know the Rebote was a digital delay.
Cool! 8)
And, isn't one of those Scott Schwartz delays based on a PT2399?
Yes, the PT-80 ( http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/pt80schem.pdf ) uses a PT2399 chip for somewhere around 330ms delay. The companding helps it to behave itself nicely.
Yeah, that's the one - the PT-80. That's the one I was thinking of.
