Title: Stage Center Reverb question
Post by: PurpleTheory on July 19, 2005, 03:01:21 AM
I just finished building a stage center reverb unit (generalguitargadgets.com) and I am overall pleased with the results, I am really suprised at the amount of reverb from such a small tank. The only thing wrong is that the sound is a tad dark for my liking. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could brighten it up some? The tank i'm using is an accutronics 8eb2c18, I'm not sure if that makes any difference.

Thanks,
Matt

Custom-tuning what you feed the tank, and what you extract from it, can make a world of difference.  Consider shaving off some of the bass going into the tank by reducing the value of the last series cap before the tank.  You may need to boost the gain of the send and receive stages a bit to compensate (bass "shakes" the springs more, so to shake theman equivalent amount while having redued bandwidth, you'll need to up the gain a bit), but the tone will be brighter sounding.
