Title: where to find velcro material?
Post by: Garrett on October 06, 2005, 09:33:38 AM
I'm trying to find a source for black felcro sheets (the soft side only).  Making a board again.  I want one peice, 2x2 feet or so.  Walmart? Fabric store?

Yup, or Home Depot, Lowes.  The cool thing about hardware stores is they usually have the heavy duty industial strength stuff in stock.  There is no way a pedal would come off a pedalboard easily with that stuff.

not sure where to find a sheet 2x2 but what I did is bought the small strips in a roll from Home depot and stuck 'em side by side... It's hard to tell that they're small strips.

Amp cabinet carpet, the black type, may work as well. It seems to me that I've had velco stick to it very well, same stuff maybe ? You'd have to clue it though. Music store would cary it.

anymore i always put the softside on my pedals and the rough side on my pedal board, since sometimes you might decide to practice with one or two pedals, or jam at a friends, and the rough side on pedals always gets stuck to carpets and such, and also gets all lint, dog hair, etc stuck to it.

I get mine ( 2 inch wide ) from a local "Dress maker/Habadashery" outlet !
Just remember to wear shades and a big coat as you shuffle in and out  !!  :icon_biggrin:
